Waikato District Council organisational values artwork

With their organisational values set, Waikato District Council wanted to ensure they were memorable and visible for their team. Creating the organisational values artwork was a graphic design project that our team eagerly tackled.
In the Waikato District Council Ngaruawahia building you’ll come across Values Street. Clearly signposted as you walk to the cafeteria, the Values Street has a large-scale grapics applied to the wall.
The messaing for each value, was derived from interviews across council staff and articulated to align with language used throughout the organisation. Want to know how that process went? We outline it more here.
Our experience has shown us that people adopt values and the definitions behind them when the key messaging is the ‘actual words’ they would use within their team and work environment. This was they are authentic. And by completing our discovery methodology, we are exposed to this language. It allows us to find the (sometimes) quirky comments and rituals that are embedded within the team.
With the organisational values artwork established, these graphical elements can then be adapted and used throughout internal communications. Induction manuals, PowerPoints, intranet and even wellness items such as drink bottles, can be branded with these organisational values artwork.
